Hello
My name is Pauline Jordan I am a Horticulture Trainer and Therapist, with a passion to promote the uses of Horticulture to improve our health and wellbeing. Graduate from Hadlow College specialising in Nursery Practice and Wye College University of London with BSc (Hons) in Horticulture.
Hortic Therapy is a social enterprise delivering therapeutic gardening and craft sessions with a focus for people living with Dementia and stroke recovery patients. We are committed to tackling and reducing isolation experienced by some of our senior citizens. This is done by supporting lonely and isolated individuals giving them the opportunity to have an active and healthier lifestyle in their twilight years which will lead to a happier and healthier community.
We provide hourly sessions where the senses are stimulated and the fine motor skills are exercised. The sessions allow the care workers to have a rest and the residents are returned feeling energised, yet calm and relaxed.
Horticulture Therapy employs plants and gardening activities in therapeutic and rehabilitation undertakings and could be utilised to improve our quality of life and well being.
Benefits include:
• Reduction of Pain
